Stockport Ink Firm Thrown A Lifeline Through Acquisition
An 86-year-old Stockport ink printing firm has been thrown an ink lifeline after being bought by an investment vehicle led by APS Group managing director Nick Snelson.
Struggling SF Taylor & Co was saved from the perils of administration by Chetham House Ltd for what has been described as an undisclosed sum, offering the historic company, which was founded in 1926, a lifeline to keep going and extend its history.
The company was originally founded in order to supply pattern cards to cotton mills but slipped into administration on November 29th after running into financial difficulties.
Ian Maycock, director at Charterfields, one of the joint administrators, said: "We were able to locate a number of interested parties and received several offers. We are pleased that the deal will secure the future of this long-established North West business."
Family-owned APS is a printing and marketing business based in Cheadle, Manchester, which also owns the agency Origin Creative.
