Most printers come with a 'setup' cartridge, these ink or toner cartridges come with a very small amount of ink in them, enough to set the printer up. Few of us would think to buy extra printer ink for printers we have just bought.

Although on the box it may say the printer prints a certain amount of pages, this is not representative of the cartridge actually supplied with the printer. To get the full amount of prints you will need to buy a 'full' printer cartridges.

Unfortunately this is standard practice by all printer manufacturers - always do your research on how many pages your printers setup cartridge can produce. And always factor in the cost of a full set of standard or high capacity replacements inks when buying a printer as you'll probably need to buy some sooner rather than later!
