New Ink Jobs To Be Created Thanks To Merger
Two of the world’s biggest printing firms are to join forces to establish a new high-technology printer manufacturing facility, creating thousands of new jobs in ink by doing so.
According to the Manila Bulletin, Philippine Economic Zone Authority director general Lilia B. De Lima revealed that one of the companies was Brother while the second company was a large digital imaging company.
Ms De Lima added that the new project that will produce one new high-tech printer and also that a 20-hectare property in Batangas has been earmarked for the venture
However, while Ms De Lima refused to divulge the ultimate cost of the project, she did reveal that but said it is a smaller investment than the other printer project. Brother is also finalising a five to ten hectare factory location somewhere in the Calabarzon area, she said.
On its first year of operation, the firm is expected to employ 4,000 and a total of 6,000 on the third year.
